Artists' Notes

Georgiy Borisov

"I was in need of a new clarinet in order to take auditions because my old instrument was not up to standard. The Performing Arts Consortium gave me an opportunity to buy this new instrument. I was appointed principal clarinetist and artist-in-residence for Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. It was such good luck...a HUGE thank you!"

Belinda Viesca

"Last year, the experience in Italy was incredible musically, artistically, personally and professionally. I got to be principal cellist at the Spoleto Music Festival and played chamber music concerts in Orvieto and Spoleto, performing with top notch musicians such as Gabriel Pegis (Cincinnati Symphony), Jon Pegis (Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and world famous violinist Chee-Yun. For this and much more, thank you!!"

Di Yi Tang

"I cannot put into words how enjoyable it was to work on such a big project as my Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall debut from the beginning to the end. I want to thank you for guiding us step-by-step in reaching this important goal. TPAC's donor support and personal attention certainly boosted my confidence to perform one of the most memorable concerts in my life. My wife, Sylvia, and I learned so much from this experience. We look forward to working together with TPAC again - on the next sensational event."

Brendon Elliott

"The Consortium's financial support helped me greatly with my college application fees, freeing up funds for travel expenses to my college auditions. I was accepted by The Juilliard School of Music, The Curtis Institute of Music, The Eastman School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, and Indiana University's Jacob's School of Music. Because of TPAC's help, I start Curtis in the fall. Thank you!"

Dizhou Zhao

"It was not only tremendous financial help for a struggling student pianist, but also an incredible emotional support for me. With the money I received, I was able to go to Spain to participate in the "Primeo Jaen" competition where I met my current teacher. That led me to a series of opportunities in my career. Presently, I am the artistic director of Happy Day Music and Art Center in Troy, Michigan. I also became an Astral Artist in 2012. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank The Performing Arts Consortium."
